Sreedhari Desai explores negotiations and ethical decision making in her research.
An award-winning teacher, she teaches courses in leadership, management, decision making and negotiations. She teaches in the MBA, Master of Accounting and PhD Programs.
Dr. Desai’s research has been published in Organization Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Administrative Science Quarterly and the Academy of Management Journal.
Her work has received extensive media coverage from Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, BBC, Forbes, The Boston Globe, NineMSN, The Irish Times, Financial Times, Toronto Star, Indian Express, The Motley Fool, Huffington Post, Economic Times and The Christian Science Monitor.
Dr. Desai has served as a faculty fellow at the Parr Center for Ethics at UNC-Chapel Hill and a visiting assistant professor at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
Before joining UNC, she was a research fellow at the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University and at the Women and Public Policy program at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Dr. Desai is the recipient of numerous awards, fellowships and grants, notably a research fellowship by the Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation; a Research Initiative Grant from the National Stock Exchange of India; and the Mariner S. Eccles Graduate Fellowship in Political Economy. She was finalist for the ASPEN dissertation proposal award, and received UNC’s University Research Council Junior Faculty Development Award.
As an international keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, and consultant on negotiation and strategic decision making, she is a trusted advisor and partner to numerous high-performing private sector organizations and military leaders.
Dr. Desai received her PhD in organizational behavior from the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. She has an MS in finance from the University of Utah and a BS in metallurgical engineering from the Punjab Engineering College.
